Getting acquainted with the staff and the vehicles.

Nakuru Park is a pilot park as far as the reintroduction of rhinoceros is concerned. A KWS specialist provides information on their ethology (animal behaviour science). The problems bound to poaching are also tackled. Everything gives more value to the safari that does not consist merely in a recollection of pictures without any legend.

NAKURU -  BARINGO LAKE

BARINGO LAKE - MARALAL

From Pokote

to Samburu

Sailing on Baringo Lake (early in the morning). Observation of crocodiles, hippopotamus, Nile monitors, fishing eagles

Departure at the end of the morning to Maralal taking the superb route which crosses the country of Pokote to the country of Samburu by skirting around the lake through the mountains of the North. This route offers wonderful views.

MARALAL - SAMBURU

Track of the Wamba jonction

Very beautiful route where savannah alternates with landscapes made of monoliths and tabloids.

Visite of 

Samburu Park

Observation of different varieties of zebras and giraffes, Grevy zebras and gazelles-giraffes

Migratory corridors

Speech of a KWS official over the conflicts between the farmes and elephants concerning the natural migratory routes of pachyderms (see the  animal preservation's section of Africamundi website).

MERU - MERU

Safari in Meru Park

Several community development projects were born around Meru National Park, notably in favour of a best water sharing. Water places are for the wild life, but others were created for the cattle, and drinking water pumping system installations have been carried out for the villagers. There, too, a KWS specialist will give further explanations.

Route to Garissa

This itinerary is likely to be modified, in case the rains would make the track impassable. We would then go to Embu, then Malindi crossing the Park of East-Tsavo.

Cruise on a Dao

Boarding on sailing boats (voiliers) for a 2-days cruise.
